Industry veterans launch hyper casual development outfit JaffaJam

New Zealand-based studio looks to "perfect the way free-to-play games are made and monetised"

A new hyper casual game development outfit has opened in New Zealand.

Staffed by veterans from Disney, Marvel, Sony Pictures, and Zynga, the studio said it's vision is to "perfect the way free-to-play games are made and monetised."

In a statement to GamesBeat, the studio said it will do this through building profiles of player preferences, serving individually targeted experiences, and growing its fan network.

JaffaJam has created its own development toolset for Unity, called Bubblegum.

The studio describes it as: "A modular system for integrating common and complex functionality for in-game systems such as procedural-generation, music mixers, localization, character selection, and achievements with an ongoing roadmap to add many more."
