Industry recruiters form new trade association

An alliance of veteran recruitment firms have joined together to form the Professional Electronic Entertainment Recruiters (PEER), a new trade organisation designed to promote and maintain professionalism and ethical work standards.

An alliance of veteran recruitment firms have joined together to form Professional Electronic Entertainment Recruiters (PEER), a new trade organisation which aims to promote and maintain professionalism and ethical work standards.

The association has launched with eight chartered members from interactive entertainment recruitment firms who have all worked in the industry since its formative years, providing professional recruitment services to staff many of the teams responsible for the industry's top selling videogames.

PEER's inaugural president, David Musgrove, commented: "As the first association of professional recruiters in the interactive entertainment industry, PEER was formed to reaffirm the high ground for ethical standards and quality performance. We are an alliance of those who lead the profession, and encourage others to be accountable for their conduct and efficacy."

As the industry continues to expand and the introduction of the next-generation of hardware platforms increases employment opportunities, PEER aims to provide an essential conduit between quality and budget conscious clients and the professional candidates seeking new roles.

"Our business is maintaining dynamic relationships between employers and top industry talent who have relied on us for years for unbiased access to the best opportunities the market has to offer, and for timely business introductions on their behalf to the right companies," added Musgrove. "Internal recruiting departments aren't set up to do that. We do it every day and now, as PEER, we aim to do it better."

Chartered members responsible for the launch of PEER include professionals from Digital Artist Management, Entertainment Technology Source, Exclaim Recruiting Agency, GameRecruiter.com, International Search Partners, Mary-Margaret.com, Premier Search, and Prime Candidate. More information on the organisation, its goals and ambitions can be found by visiting the official PEER website.
