Independent Propeller Awards contest offers $150,000 in prizes.
Cincinnati, Ohio – Dec. 1, 2010 – Video game publisher Zoo Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZOOG), today announced that its online independent gaming community indiePubGames.com will host the first Independent Propeller Awards video game development contest at SXSW ScreenBurn, the gaming portion of the SXSW Interactive Festival. Contest submissions are now open, with the grand prize winner to be revealed on March 13, 2011.
“SXSW is where creative spirit thrives, so we’re proud to be focusing more on the art and design of video games by partnering with indiePub on the ScreenBurn Independent Propeller Awards,” said Justin Burnham, Account Executive, SXSW ScreenBurn. “With their history of helping raw talent refine their skills to create outstanding original games, indiePub Games was the natural partner for this exciting new component of SXSW Interactive.”
Developers can visit www.indiePubGames.com to submit their titles for consideration. Finalists selected in the Best Art, Best Audio, Best Design and Technical Excellence categories will be provided with flights and accommodations to attend SXSW in Austin, TX to demo their games during the event and compete to be selected as the Grand Prize Winner. The Independent Propeller Awards will offer $150,000 in total prizes, including $50,000 for the grand prize, $25,000 for each subcategory winner, and the chance for titles to be published by indiePub through its sponsor, Zoo Publishing.
