IndieCade expands with European show
Organizers plan festival's first stand-alone non-US event with IndieCade Europe set for Paris November 18-19
IndieCade is going global. The festival for independent games today announced the inaugural IndieCade Europe, set to take place in Paris on November 18 and November 19.
"Our expansion into Europe reflects how important IndieCade's international community has become," said IndieCade CEO Stephanie Barish. "IndieCade Europe has been created as an opportunity to draw together community from across Europe to network, attend presentations and workshops, as well as to participate in game showcases and social events designed to support independent European game developers and aspiring creators grow their craft, refine their businesses, and flourish as artists in this rapidly expanding global, entertainment industry."
IndieCade Europe will be the third stand-alone event added to the organization's stable of shows. It already runs an annual IndieCade Festival in Los Angeles in October, as well as the New York City-based IndieCade East. However, this is not IndieCade's first trip to Europe. The show previously partnered with GameCity Festival to hold IndieCade showcases at that event, much as it does at E3 each year.
The event will take place at CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers), and is being planned on in association with French trade organization Capital Games.
