IGN BAFTA hub
Microsite for UK awards ceremony launched.
16/02/11 - IGN, the UK’s largest video games and entertainment network, is building up to its live stream of this year’s GAME British Academy Video Games Awards by launching a dedicated online hub at http://go.ign.com/baftamicrosite/.
As official online promotional partner for these Awards, the hub will be the focal point of IGN’s event coverage for IGN readers in the UK and beyond, as the awards ceremony hosted by Dara O’Briain, is streamed live on Wednesday 16 March 2011.
The IGN hub features all games nominated in each of this year’s thirteen categories voted for by a panel of BAFTA members and games industry representatives, including Action, Gameplay and Strategy. The site also encourages users to vote for their own favourite title in the GAME Award 2010. The hub will be updated regularly with new features – as members of IGN UK champion their tips for each BAFTA category.
Promising extensive coverage of the event, the IGN BAFTA hub will deliver a flavour of the event for readers across the world, with a mix of interviews with award-winners and unrivalled editorial insight from the IGN team.
Rich Keen, Marketing Director, IGN Entertainment, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be the official online promotional partner of this year’s BAFTA Video Game Awards. As the UK’s most respected awards, we’ll be promoting the event and the work of the British Academy to millions of IGN readers at home and beyond.”
Visit the new BAFTA Video Games microsite now at http://go.ign.com/baftamicrosite/ . The live stream of the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards will begin at approximately 20.00hrs GMT on Wednesday 16 March.
