IGG secures funding round
IGG Inc, the publisher of a number of free-to-play MMOs, has announced that it has secured additional funding to the tune of USD 4.5 million.
IGG Inc, the publisher of a number of free-to-play MMOs, has announced that it has secured additional funding to the tune of USD 4.5 million.
The company will use the money "to expand global sales and marketing, to implement strategic plans, and to further the development of more innovative and entertaining games," according to a statement, while existing games will be localised further.
The company, which launched in 2006, is responsible for a six titles to date, including Myth War Online and Zu Online (pictured), and claims over 3.5 million registered users, although it's not clear if that figure relates to total numbers, or just active users.
The funding will be provided by IDG Technology Venture Investments, a US venture capital firm with strong links to China.
