iGames Goes Global with Six-Country Launch for Digital Jesters’ Bet On Soldier: Blood Sport™
On Oct. 1, Leading Game Center Organization Extends Reach, with over $5K in Special Competitions Sponsored by NVIDIA and EVGA
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, September 27, 2005 - iGames, the world's leading game center organization, today announced its first-ever global launch campaign with a series of special events for Digital Jesters' Bet On Soldier, the eagerly anticipated first-person shooter which hits shelves in the UK on September 23 and in the US on September 26.
As with past iGames launches, the events will include a one-day premier, October 1, followed by a two-week showcase, October 3-16, which allows gamers to sample the new title at their leisure. The difference with this campaign, however, is that iGames will be extending its reach beyond its dominance of the North American market to six countries globally, including game centers in Spain, Australia, Singapore and Costa Rica. Sponsored by NVIDIA and EVGA, the campaign will also feature special competitions with over $5,000 in prizes.
"We are proud to be reaching these important milestones with such a new and innovative global publisher as Digital Jesters," said Mark Nielsen, Executive Director of iGames. "With Bet On Soldier, they've come up with an interesting new take on the first-person shooter, which really speaks to a global community of gamers."
"iGames is a great partner for us to showcase the robust features and community gameplay of Bet On Soldier," added Leo Zullo, Marketing Director and Co-Founder of Digital Jesters. "With iGames' unique network of more than 600 game centers, especially the newly added centers for this launch, we know that both hardcore gamers and casual players alike will be blown away by the game's multiple narratives and superior gameplay."
In Bet On Soldier: Blood Sport, money is the root of all survival. For eighty years war has been raging and has now become the only focus of the human race. Everybody either fights or works somewhere in the war machinery. Fighting isn't just about staying alive anymore, it is about making money. Federations with open control over governments created Bet On Soldier, a TV show where soldiers fight to entertain the masses and to generate profits.
As Nolan Daneworth, your past is a blur. Brief glimpses of fights and battles seem like remnants of past dreams. The dreams turn to nightmares when you discover your fiancée brutally murdered. The only links to the murder are the Bet On Soldier champions "The Boryenkas Brothers." Desperate for revenge and the truth, you enroll in the Bet On Soldier tournament and head for an inevitable clash with these brutal B.O.S champions.
The game's features include hand-to-mouth gameplay in which players must kill and bet to earn enough money to survive; 20 missions in four distinctive environments; engrossing multiplayer action with up to 32 players spread over 6 warrior classes and each player with the ability to bet on each other!
Published by Digital Jesters, and developed by Kylotonn Entertainment, Bet On Soldier is optimized to take full advantage of AMD's next generation 64-bit AMD AthlonTM 64 FX processor and AGEIATM Technologies' revolutionary PhysXTM chip and NovodeXTM Physics SDK. About Digital Jesters
Founded in 2003, Digital Jesters is a British-based publisher of computer and video games. Set up by the duo responsible for launching and establishing the Sudden Strike and Cossacks series of games in the UK, the firm's remit is simple: to source and publish the best games available. The company's commitment to originality resulting in it snapping up the original TrackMania game from French developer Nadeo and DJ's ethos of community development strategy resulted in the game becoming one of the sleeper hits of the year. A tie-in with record-breaking yachtswoman Ellen Macarthur for the firm's second release Virtual Skipper 3 ensured the game received widespread attention among the elusive non-gamer, and firmly placed the publisher on the map. The firm has enjoyed three top 10 PC hits, one of which is from the developer Cyanide, creators of Pro Rugby Manager, and now DJ is expanding its operation to cover additional territories. It has also published its own comic book to widespread critical acclaim. For additional information on Digital Jesters, please visit www.digitaljesters.com or www.djmediacentre.com.
