Ideaworks3D in the Driving Seat at BAFTA Games Awards

Ideaworks3D’s Creativity and Technology enables Colin McRae Rally 2005 to take Best Handheld Game Accolade

LONDON - 7th March, 2005 - Ideaworks3D, a leading provider of advanced mobile gaming technology and content, this week celebrated its second successive accolade at the prestigious British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Games Awards. It received first place in the Best Handheld Game category for the best-selling Colin McRae Rally 2005, a Codemasters franchise developed for the Nokia N-Gage by Ideaworks3D's creative studio and based on Ideaworks3D's groundbreaking mobile games technology.

Hosted by Jonathan Ross, BAFTA's 2nd Annual Games Awards ceremony was held on Tuesday, 1 March, at London's Café Royal, and was attended by the best and brightest in the video games industry.

"Having contributed to the development of last year's inaugural winner, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, with Nokia, we are well aware of the prestige associated with this award," commented Frazer Wilsoin, CEO, Ideaworks3D. "We are therefore delighted to be recognised as leaders by our peers in this tremendously competitive industry for a second year in a row."

Grant Dean, Chairman of the BAFTA Games Committee said, "Last year was a great year for the Video Games industry. These awards reflect the enormous achievements, progress and diversity that we have seen in that time."

Other competitors in the Handheld Game category included Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban, The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon and Star Wars Trilogy.
