I-Play launches dedicated Swedish games channel

TeliaSonera customers get direct access to entire I-Play portfolio

Mobile games publisher I-Play has announced the launch of a branded games channel on the TeliaSonera mobile service in Sweden, allowing customers of the SurfPort mobile portal to access its porfolio of games directly.

The new arrangement means that SurfPort users in Sweden will be able to navigate to an I-Play branded section where a variety of titles ranging from Jewel Quest and Maria Sharapova Tennis to the much-lauded "one-thumb" game Skipping Stone will be available.

The service is rolling out first in Sweden, but launches are expected in the other Scandinavian territories - Norway, Denmark and Finland - in the coming months. TeliaSonera's SurfPort is accessible to 11 million customers across those regions.

"Launching publisher-driven direct-to-consumer channels is another step towards a truly mass-market availability of mobile games without the bandwidth constraints of the classic operator channels," commented I-Play's acting CEO David Gosen.

"Managing our own branded channel on TeliaSonera's SurfPort will help us serve customers better and add fun and simplicity to the customer experience," he concluded.
