I-play Extends Global Licensing Agreement with iWin
Top-Selling Online Casual Game Titles Come to Mobile
World Mobile Congress, Barcelona - February 12, 2008 - I-play, the mobile publishing division of Oberon Media, the world's leading multi-platform casual games company, has extended its global license agreement with iWin, the San Francisco based developer and publisher of casual games, to deliver sequels to the three top-selling mobile titles from the 'Quest franchise' until 2010. Following I-play's successful adaptations of iWin's Jewel Quest, Jewel Quest Solitaire and Mah Jong Quest, the Quest franchise has been secured for a further three years.
In a recent survey conducted by I-play, 38% of casual online games customers were found to play games on their mobile phones, a figure that compares favorably to the industry average of 20.5% of North Americans who play a mobile game on their handset each month[1]. 45% of respondents said they would play their favorite online games on mobile. These findings show the potential synergies between the online casual and mobile gaming audiences and that online causal gamers are almost twice as likely to play mobile games as the average mobile user.
Don Ryan, SVP Publishing, Oberon Media commented: "Our delivery of iWin's online casual gaming franchise is another example of I-play's expertise in building commercially successful, quality mobile franchises that have longevity and are extremely popular with mobile audiences. We are excited about extending our strategic partnership with iWin and to work with gaming properties that are a perfect fit with our own portfolio of popular one-thumb gaming titles, targeting the mass market."
CJ Wolf, CEO of iWin Inc, commented, "I-play has proven itself as a valuable mobile partner in its delivery of our award winning and critically acclaimed Jewel Quest and Mah Jong Quest. They bring industry leading expertise in mobile development and publishing; the capability to distribute our titles to a network of over one billion mobile subscribers, and genuinely innovative and effective marketing support."
