Humble Freedom Bundle raised $6.73m
Bundle created in response to President Trump's anti-immigration policy was a huge success
The Humble Freedom Bundle is now officially over, with a total of $6.73 million raised from sales.
The bundle, which was created in response to President Donald Trump's anti-immigration policy, raised more than $2 million in a single day when it launched on February 14. One week later, that amount stood at $6.73 million, including $300,000 donated by Humble Bundle.
The bundle itself was almost certainly the most generous ever sold by the charity retailer, including games, soundtracks and comics worth in excess of $600 for a minimum $30 price. More than 200,000 bundles have been sold in total.
All proceeds will be donated to three organisations: the American Civil Liberties Union, the International Rescue Committee, and Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
Typically, both Humble and the games' publishers can receive a portion of the proceeds from a bundle before money is sent to charity. On this occasion, those involved have foregone their cut, which speaks to the political feeling of so many in the games industry since the Trump Administration's controversial move against immigration in the US.
