Hudson Entertainment has axed a number of QA and porting staff from its mobile division.
The company cited porting costs as the reason for the move, although it stressed that it was still focused on creating mobile games.
"While the mobile game business has continued to grow over the last 3 years, porting cost management continues to be a challenge," said the company in an official statement.
"It's always a difficult decision to layoff staff members, but it was important that we realign our mobile games business to ensure that we can move forward," commented John Greiner, CEO of Hudson.
Hudson said that the company's music, console games and digital download businesses are unaffected by the redundancies.
