Coinciding with the 15 Year Anniversary, the Fan Favorite Fighting Game is Launching on Mobile
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAN MATEO, CA - July 25, 2006 - Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm for Hudson Soft, today announced that they are planning to bring the fan favorite arcade fighting game, Fatal Fury, to cellphones. The new version of the game, which is based on Fatal Fury 2, is titled Fatal Fury Mobile. The game is expected to launch on both Brew and Java platforms in the North American market during fall 2006.
"It is our distinct pleasure to bring this much loved SNK fighting game to cellphones." said John Greiner, President and CEO of Hudson Entertainment. "It is quite impressive how all the action-packed essence of the classic title fits on a small device. It serves as a great compliment to our library of games.
By continuously providing customers with a wide array of licensed games like Fatal Fury Mobile as well as original IP to the mobile landscape, Hudson is establishing itself as a top provider of entertainment content for cellphones."
About The Fatal Fury Franchise
The Fatal Fury franchise was originally developed by SNK for the Neo-Geo system. It featured a variety of combatants fighting in a 2D background, taking each other on with deadly combos and finishing moves. While the first game launched 15 years ago, it wasn't until Fatal Fury 2 that the series hit its stride. Since then, more than 11 versions of the game has launched on multiple platforms. The series was spun off into action figures, three anime movies, and many of the characters were eventually featured in dozens of other games as well.
This is the first time the series has hit cellphones for the North American market. The game features 8 characters from the original Fatal Fury 2 arcade game. Combos and patterns of attack have been optimized for fighting on the cellphone, while still retaining the fighting complexity of the game.
Fatal Fury Mobile features:
8 Combatants: Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, Big Bear, Jubei Yamada, Cheng Shizan, Kim, and Mai Shiranui
Each character has unique special moves
Controls and combos have been optimized for play on cellphones
Numerous play modes, including Quick Play, Single Match, Training, Survival, and Tournament mode, which features an unraveling story
8 unique locations with beautiful parallax scrolling backgrounds
