Hip acquires Playboy developer
Arush Entertainment's efforts on the Playboy: The Mansion game have borne fruit, seeing it become a subsidiary of Canadian publisher, Hip Interactive.
Canadian publisher Hip Interactive confirmed today that it has acquired Arizona-based Playboy: The Mansion publisher, Arush Entertainment.
"Arush's ability to source and license titles, along with management's strong industry relationships, will enable us to broaden Hip's North American publishing presence," said Hip CEO Arindra Singh.
Playboy: The Mansion launches in both America and Europe this November for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC, attracting attention as a fresh take on the "tycoon" style management game. Players must build an adult entertainment empire in the game, constructing the famous mansion and managing such celebrities as Carmen Elektra in a quest to promote "positive sexual attitude" and "personal freedom".
Hip now controls all game rights previously held by Arush. No financial information regarding the deal has been released.
