Hidden Objects - The Big Journey

150 levels, 40 locations, and seeking publishers worldwide.

cerasus.media, developer and publisher of Casual Games, will shortly be completing the title “Hidden Objects - The Big Journey”. Most recently the Berliners have celebrated great success with the Hidden Object Games “Mystery Stories: Island of Hope” and “Animal Agents”. In the past, “Cradle of Rome”, among others, was also developed for the Nintendo DS.

“Hidden Objects - The Big Journey“ was conceived specifically for Nintendo DS and fully utilizes all of its capabilities. One of the most popular game mechanics has been intelligently and innovatively adapted for two screens.

The game is first released in Germany, the home market of cerasus.media, and the company is still looking for publishers in North America and the rest of the world. “Hidden Objects - The Big Journey“ will be available in English from the first day on. The first discussions should take place at the Casual Connect in Seattle and the Games Convention in Leipzig.

Whereas most PC games of this type can be played through in about 5-10 hours, the goal for the Nintendo DS is geared more towards the long-time motivation of the player. Over 150 levels in more than 40 locations can be played. Instead of being content with simple word lists or silhouettes, 10 different variations have been created, for example searching for objects, which must be recognized by their specific sounds. Countless tricky bonus games, which can also be skipped, further shake up the adventure. In the Free Play Mode the player is able to revisit his favourite locations later on and play with completely different search objects as often as he likes.

“Depending on the distributor, between 30 and 50 percent of the Casual Games in the Top 10 lists are Hidden Object Games. We know that the many fans of this game genre have been waiting for a long time to be able to play such games on Nintendo DS,” says Stefan Jülke, Managing Director of cerasus.media.

Christian Baumgarten, responsible Project Leader, adds: “The market for Casual Games has its own peculiarities. Every trend begins online or in the download market. Only what is set in motion there will reach the consoles later. That was the case with the Match 3 games, it is now with the Hidden Object Games and it will be in the future with the Casual Simulations.”
