HandyGames offers free catalogue of titles

German publisher teams with GameJump

European publisher and developer HandyGames has released almost its entire portfolio for free, via Greystripe's GameJump platform.

Users are only charged via their network operator for the download, while game costs are incorporated by advertisers on the GameJump application.

"While competitors try to generate new target groups via demos versions or discount prices, HandyGames goes one step further, again," commented Udo Bausewein, CFO of HandyGames.

"It's about time to boost the mobile gaming market by simply skipping the discussion about pricing and offer our customers the possibility to use mobile entertainment with advertisement for free."

Confident of the strategic move, Bausewein added: "The customer has been used to watching movies with ad breaks. We adapt this model and plan to thrill the masses of mobile gamers with it."

"This is a billion dollar market for the games industry and it is underestimated by many," he said.
