Hamburg, March 8, 2006
Hamburg, March 8, 2006 - The German publisher dtp will release an off-beat football experience with the casual game "Flitzer" on PC. "Flitzer" is the German term for streaking soccer/football fans. The game was developed by German company Handy Games and released for mobile devices. The PC version will be released in May 2006, simultaneously with the mobile version just in time for the World Cup, the biggest soccer event of the year.
In "Flitzer", the player takes control of a nude soccer/football fan, trying to navigate him through all the pitfalls of the stadium. Overzealous security personnel and resolute policemen are in his way, trying to bring the player's nudist fun to a stop. Various obstacles and special items also threaten to trip up the streaker. But if the player manages to perform daring stunts and combos, he will get rewarded with the highscore - awarded by the roaring crowds.
The two version for PC and mobile phones will be jointly advertised by cross-marketing.
"Together with Handy Games, we're bringing PC gamers a really unusual game with 'Flitzer' - great fun, not only during World Cup time. 'Flitzer' is for everyone, who wants to see a different side of soccer and because it's such an easy to learn casual game, this means every soccer fan. The contents is a bit provocative, but fun and inoffensive and we can use it to gain a lot of media attention with our extensive PR and marketing campaigns", says Carsten Fichtelmann, Director Marketing & Product with dtp.
Christopher Kassulke, CEO Handy Games, adds: "HandyGames is proud to see that for the first time a mobile game is successfully brought to the PC market. dtp is keenly aware of the surging "mobile goes PC" trend. HandyGames will continue to license our mobile blockbusters for other platforms in the future."
dtp will be publishing the PC version of "Flitzer" in all major western and eastern european territories.
