Guillermo del Toro in negotiations with THQ
Deal reportedly forged by director and THQ's Danny Bilson
Movie director Guillermo del Toro's game projects are likely to be with Darksiders and Homefront publisher THQ.
The LA Times writes that a deal between the popular director and the resurgent publisher is in its final stages, led by THQ's executive vice president of core games Danny Bilson, who himself has a background in film and television.
The arrangement would certainly mirror the sentiments which Bilson expressed to GamesIndustry.biz about his plans for the company's growth.
"What we do is we have a bunch of guys who love videogames wanting to make the games that they love the most, and if that's your mission I think we can make great games and succeed," said Bilson earlier in the year. "The other thing is that you're not going to see us buying studios, you're going to see us acquiring talent. Very different. "
Del Toro, director of Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth, has previously told MTV that he would be ready to announce the details of his gaming deal around this time.
