Director working on "a big deal with a big company," next movie is Lovecraft

Director Guillermo del Toro has confirmed he is working on multiple game projects.

While the director of Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy had previously stated he was unlikely to contribute to a Hobbit game even before he stood down from helming the Lord of the Rings prequel, he has often spoken of his fondness of the medium.

Speaking to MTV, he was unwilling to reveal details on his projects, but claimed they would be high profile.

"One of the things we're announcing in the next few weeks is a big deal with a big company," he said. "We're going to do games that are going to be technically and narratively very interesting. It's not a development deal. We're going to do it."

It's possible the game is related to what is rumoured to be del Toro's next directing gig - an adaptation of HP Lovecraft's horror tale At The Mountains Of Madness. 3D figurehead James Cameron is alleged to be assisting on the project

Del Toro's sometime colleague Peter Jackson was at one time working with Microsoft on a Halo movie and game. Since the breakdown of that partnership, his Wingnut Studios outfit has moved on an to as-yet unrevealed original IP.
