Greentube´s Ski Challenge 07 – season ends with new record-breaking figures
The greatest ski race in the world - 3 million downloads!
Vienna, the 21st of March 2007
Greentube AG, the worldwide leading operator of multiplayer skill game platforms and 3D skill games, has just finished the third season of its Ski Challenge across Europe. The PC game has international cult status, and is optimised for the production of TV pictures as so-called user-generated content. Therefore, it is ideally suited to cross-media implementation.
For the first time, Ski Challenge 07 has been contested in five different countries: In Austria with our partner ORF, in Switzerland with SF DRS, in Germany with Pro7, SAT.1, Kabel1, in Norway with NRK and in Sweden with SVT.
As the result of the wide-spread distribution of the game, and combined media power of the partners, the company now announces the official key figures of this year´s season:
The Ski Challenge 07 achieved record highs with:
- 3,000,000 (3 mil.) downloads
- 230,000,000 (230 mil.) races
- 13,000,000,000 (13 bn.) ad-impressions generated
- 2,100,000 (2,1 mil.) hours of ad view-time
Once again, a host of major advertising partners were on board, including major brands such as Visa, Siemens, Reise.com, MyVideo, Red Bull, Tipp3, Swisscom, Telenor, BNBank, Kronen Zeitung, Uniqa and AON, to name a few. Ski Challenge is financed by this kind of dynamic in-game advertising. The technology behind the game was developed by Greentube itself and has been refined over the last few years.
Eberhard Dürrschmid, CEO Greentube:
"Ski Challenge is without a doubt the flagship of our 3D eSports series, which also includes mountain bike racing, motorbike simulations and other racing games. This season, Ski Challenge has again rewritten the record books. When considering those figures, the world's biggest ski race has become an international event of real significance, and this has enabled Greentube and its partners to secure a leading global position."
