Newly-formed development studio Green Monster Games has announced the appointment of Brett Close, who has previously worked for Midway Games and Electronic Arts, as president.
GMG was established in September last year by Curt Schilling, a baseball player for the Boston Red Sox.
He initially took on presidential duties but has handed over the reigns due to his sporting commitments. Commenting on Close's appointment, Schilling said, "My commitment right now must be on the field helping the Red Sox win another World Championship, and to do that to the best of my ability I need to know that the person in charge possesses the same thoughts, beliefs, integrity, and accountability that I feel I do, and Brett does just that."
GMG has also appointed Mary Kirchoff as senior vice president of marketing and brand development. Kirchoff is said to have been responsible for the rise to fame of R. A. Salvatore, a successful fantasy author and creative director at GMG.
In addition, former Shiny Entertainment employee Chaz Sutherland has been made art director at GMG.
