"We are thrilled to create this unique and comfortable space to illustrate our commitment to both San Francisco, an international hub of this industry, and our employees. GREE is committed to building the leading global mobile social games ecosystem and reaching our goal of having one billion users. We are confident we can make this happen thanks in part to the games coming out of our North American studio, our amazing partners, and the new GREE platform"

The first two releases from the new studio are planned for March.

GREE is currently hiring for a number of different roles at the studio, which will be headed up by Eiji Araki, who has been with the company since 2005.

"Our team is hard at work to deliver best-in-class content," added Araki, senior VP of social games.

"Our aim is to constantly change the face of mobile social gaming and we know, without a doubt, that San Francisco is the city to find the top talent to build unique games from the ground up for the western market."."

As well 41,000 square foot of space, the new building will boast a brain storming lounge and on-site yoga lessons.

GREE already has offices in its native Tokyo, Dubai, Beijing, California, Seoul, Singapore, London, Amsterdam and Sao Paolo.
