gPotato: Art & Video Games contest

Winners announced.

For immediate release

Last April, the free-to-play MMORPG publisher gPotato Europe and his partner, the online publisher Foolstrip, announced the launch of a big contest aiming at supporting artistic creation related to video games. Two month later, a huge amount of participations have been received, and five young illustrators are rewarded for their work on Flyff and Rappelz.

The first issue of the “gPotato: Art & Video Games” contest required the artists to produce quality illustrations on the theme of the two online MMORPG published by gPotato Europe: the manga-style Flyff and the dark Rappelz. Between the 21rst of April and the 31rst of May, dozens of high quality participations have been received. The jury was composed by members of gPotato Europe, Foolstrip, as well as game developers Aeonsoft Inc. and NFlavor Corp. Here are the winners:

For Flyff :

• First position: Malika Le Gall

• Second position: Marcq Matthieu

• Third position: Marie Chaffiol

For Rappelz :

• First position : Alexandre Guillaume

• Second position : Marcq Matthieu

• Third position : Gregoire Bonne

gPotato Europe is proud to propose a professional illustrator contract to Malika Le Gall and Alexandre Guillaume. The wide range of illustrations received during this contest shows that the video game universes provide a large and ideal ground for artistic creation. gPotato Europe wants to thank all the artists who took part in the contest, and sets up an appointment for next year’s issue !
