Golden Joystick Awards 2008
Shortlist voting now open.
DRAFT – Future, the special-interest media group, has announced that shortlist voting for the 26th Annual Golden Joystick Awards is now open, and are calling for the UK games industry to support the event – helping to make it the biggest and best yet.
Following a month of longlist voting, more than 100,000 votes have helped organisers whittle down nominees in each of the 15 gamer voted categories. Now the real work begins, with each vote from gamers directly influences which titles are in with a chance of being awarded a prestigious Golden Joystick. In a year that gave us massive games like Grand Theft Auto IV, Halo 3 and Super Mario Galaxy, just what titles do gamers think deserve praise?
With votes coming in thick and fast at www.goldenjoystick.com, Future is calling upon marketing and PR teams with shortlisted games to rally their online communities behind their campaign to win a Joystick. This year, the Golden Joystick Awards are a headline event of the annual London Games Festival, a series of events which promotes the games industry in the Capital.
The Golden Joystick Awards promotion campaign has kicked into gear, and Future hopes this year’s event will crack one million votes, with voting open until Monday, 20th October at www.goldenjoystick.com.
