Golden Joystick Awards 2008
Pair of tickets for October 31st's ceremony being auctioned on eBay; profits going to the GamesAid charity.
15/10/08 - Future – the UK’s largest games media company, is supporting the GamesAid charity by auctioning off a final pair of tickets for the sold-out 26th Annual Golden Joystick Awards – together with Virgin Media.
Taking place on Friday, 31st October, organisers have sold almost 800 tickets for the famous Golden Joystick Awards, which this year are a headline event of London Games Festival. With Future still inundated with requests to buy tickets, the final pair are now up for grabs in an eBay auction, with all proceeds going directly to GamesAid.
GamesAid is the new UK video games industry charity. Distributing funds to a diverse range of children and young people’s organisations, GamesAid gives something back on behalf of the industry.
This year, the Golden Joystick Awards are hosted by in demand TV comic Frankie Boyle – who takes time out from his sold-out UK tour to present the live ceremony. The final pair of tickets will give the holder access to the whole event, from the morning drinks reception, through the show itself and into the night at the legendary aftershow party.
Future UK’s Chief Executive, Robert Price said:
“This year’s Golden Joysticks look set to be the greatest yet – thanks to Virgin Media’s support and the fantastic response from UK gamers themselves. Demand for tickets remains off the scale, and we sold out this year in record time.
If your company hasn’t bought a table, and you’ve not managed to beg, borrow or steal an invite bidding for these tickets will be the only way you might find yourself celebrating at the Golden Joystick Awards laster this month. Dig deep and help us support GamesAid – the industry’s leading charity.”
