GOG.com

Original version of Serious Sam now a $9.99, DRM-free download.

Warsaw, Poland – August 3, 2010. GOG.com ( http://www.gog.com), the site with the best collection of all-time-classic PC games without copy protection adds another gem to its offer. The agreement with Devolver Digital brings the original Serious Sam series – not that fancy, newfangled HD stuff – to the vast catalogue of classics, as Serious Sam: The First Encounter and Serious Sam: The Second Encounter hit the site. The first part is now available to buy for $9.99, DRM-free and fully compatible with modern operating systems.

Serious Sam: The First Encounter, named PC Game of the Year by GameSpot and IGN Editor's Choice in 2001, is an action-packed, over-the-top first-person-shooter from developer Croteam. Sam “Serious” Stone is Earth's last and only hope in the battle against the evil Mental and his minions. He has to travel in time and change history by defeating Mental in ancient times… okay, let’s face it: the game isn’t really about the plot. Serious Sam is a game for connoisseurs of pure action, arcade-style gameplay and nonsensical and explicit humor.

“We are really pleased to be working with Good Old Games. It's hard to think of a company that we respect more and adding the original Serious Sam games to GOG is a real pleasure,” said Harry Miller, co-founder of Devolver Digital.

With Serious Sam: The First Encounter available for $9.99 and Serious Sam: The Second Encounter coming to the store soon, GOG.com is the only place on the internet to get the original first two parts of the Serious Sam adventures.
