Glu Mobile launches new adventure game

European gamers invited to get Stranded

Glu Mobile has announced the European launch of Stranded, a new mobile adventure game which challenges players to explore and uncover the secrets of a mysterious island following a devastating accident at sea.

The story begins after a shipwreck which leaves the only lifeboat in pieces and a group of strangers struggling to survive day to day by hunting, planting food and exploring the many different areas of the mysterious island.

Featuring more than 40 different species of animals, an array of plant life and food sources and a steadily unravelling plot which leads to dissent and distrust amongst the survivors, Stranded is being touted as an adventure game unlike any other for the mobile platform.

One of the more unique features of the game is a 24-hour clock which is displayed on the map screen, challenging players to find the best times to fish in the changing tides, brave the elements and grow food to eat or trade with other survivors.

Unique elements to the complex puzzle of life on the island will be revealed at certain times, forcing the player to fully explore the hidden caves, beaches, forests, mountains and cliff tops to find the best means of survival and escape.

Kim Daniel Arthur, Glu's executive producer, EMEA, commented: "Stranded is unlike any adventure game available for mobile. By enabling the actual time to directly map to the time on the island, players truly have another world to discover and really get a different experience every time they play."

Stranded includes an array of upgradeable weapons to hunt and explore the island's many secrets, and has been developed by the publisher's acclaimed London Studio - previously responsible for hit titles such as Alpha Wing 2 and the multi-award winning Ancient Empires II.

Available from all major European network operators from August, more information on Stranded can be found by visiting www.glu.com.
