Glu Mobile Launches Alpha Wing 2: A New Benchmark in Action Shooter Mobile Gaming

Glu Mobile, a leading creator and global publisher of mobile entertainment, today announced the release of Alpha Wing 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to the award-winning mobile hit, Alpha Wing. Alpha Wing 2 features an engaging story, cutting edge sound and graphics, and fast-paced high-quality action gameplay. Developed internally at Glu Mobile, Alpha Wing 2 is also the company's first release with 3D graphics.

In the game, players take on the role of one of three brave intergalactic heroes, with one mission: to battle the advancing enemy and defeat the alien menace. Each of the three characters in the game has unique weapons, which can be upgraded by collecting the power-ups found throughout the nine levels of the game. And in a nod to classic shoot 'em up games like Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun, Alpha Wing 2 also features a trio of imposing end of level bosses.

In a departure from other mobile games, Alpha Wing 2 blends both 3D and 2D graphics to create a game, which is both graphically rich and ideally suited to the performance constraints of mobile phones. For handsets that do not support 3D graphics, Glu has created a wholly 2D version.
