Glu Mobile creates more millionaires

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: Music Edition launched

Glu Mobile has announced the launch of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Music Edition, which is the third mobile-specific title in its globally successful series of games based on the television quiz phenomenon from Celador.

Spanning the past 40 years and encompassing a range of musical genres from rock, to pop and dance, the new game features hundreds of questions to please both music and trivia fans. All the features of the hit television show and previous two WWTBAM mobile games are back, including the three 'life lines' (50:50, Ask the Audience and Phone a Friend) to recreate the tension and excitement that has made the franchise so popular around the world.

Kristian Segerstrale, managing director EMEA at Glu Mobile commented: "'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' is a massive brand and perfect for mobile because it has a mass market, casual gamer appeal. Adding a music-themed version alongside the million-selling original and celebrity versions will give gamers a fun twist on the 'Millionaire?' format. Quiz games are fun for anyone to play, and people will relish the chance to test their musical knowledge."

The new Music Edition is the third Millionaire? Game released by Glu, extending its partnership with original television show creators Celador International. The original game for mobile phones has been released in over 24 European countries, each version containing unique questions specific to each country.

Simon Gunning, head of interactive at Celador International, added: "We're very excited about the launch of the music version of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' on mobile. Music is a perfect theme for a Millionaire game, as music appeals to men and women, the old and the young - just like the Millionaire show itself. Pairing the two is a natural evolution for the brand."

Glu recently celebrated its one millionth EU download of the original mobile version, creating a special award for Celador to mark the game's continued success.
