Glu Mobile accepts AIAS Mobile Award
Ancient Empires II claims game of the year award
Wireless games and entertainment publisher Glu Mobile has secured another prestigious industry award, scooping Best Cellular Game of the Year at the 9th annual award ceremony for the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.
The award, presented recently at 'The Joint' in the Hard Rock hotel and casino in Las Vegas, is peer-based and designed to recognise and reward individuals or companies that have made significant contribution to the development of the multi-billion worldwide gaming and interactive entertainment industry.
A sequel to the award-winning Ancient Empires, Glu's mobile strategy title has already received tremendous industry acclaim, scooping numerous awards, and continues to enjoy commercial sales success.
The game challenges players to defend their kingdom with strategic placement of troops, drawing on the strength and skills of lethal archers, savage wolves and fire-breathing dragons. Players can form their own strategies for battle, and the game also offers multiplayer fun for up to four players using the pass-and-play skirmish mode.
Kristian Segerstrale, Glu's managing director, commented: "It's a great honour that our ongoing dedication and effort to create a uniquely mobile gaming experience has been recognized by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences through this prestigious award. It is recognition of the hard work and dedication from everyone at Glu, and a vote of confidence in our continued commitment to creating original and innovative mobile entertainment."
