Glu launches Diner Dash for mobile phones

PlayFirst's acclaimed PC title now available to wireless gamers

Glu Mobile has announced the launch of a dedicated mobile version of PlayFirst's acclaimed PC game, Diner Dash, which is now available on all major wireless carriers throughout North America.

Originally published on the PC and Mac by PlayFirst, the full-service publisher of downloadable popular PC games, Diner Dash has enjoyed widespread success to date, consistently achieving a top-ten listing on all major online gaming sites including Yahoo Games, MSN Games and Shockwave.com.

Players are charged with the task of growing a fledgling roadside diner into a booming five star restaurant, guiding former stockbroker Flo as she attempts to exceed customer demands to rake in the cash and develop the new business venture.

The mobile game features a career mode with forty levels set in four unique restaurant environments, five different customer types including difficult to please food critics, a range of food, drinks and restaurant enhancements, and a continual stream of hungry customers in Endless Mode.

Robert Nashak, Glu's chief creative officer, commented: "With Diner Dash, PlayFirst has established itself as a hit-maker of casual games. "Diner Dash on mobile gives fans of the PC title and casual mobile gamers alike the great animation, fast-paced gameplay and compelling storyline that have made Diner Dash a No. 1 hit."

"Casual games have emerged as the most popular genre on mobile, and Glu has consistently delivered top quality titles that keep, and even enhance, the gameplay experience as the game transfers from PC to mobile," added Kenny Dinkin, VP and executive producer at PlayFirst.

"For the millions of Diner Dash fans who can't wait to take their favourite game on the go, this version will not disappoint. It has all the high energy fun they've come to expect," Dinkin added.

Diner Dash for mobiles is now available throughout North America, and Glu will be releasing the title on carriers worldwide from March onwards.
