Glu hits the high notes with the release of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Music Edition” for mobile
Glu Mobile publishes third title based on the globally popular TV quiz show
London, UK - 19th January, 2005 - Glu Mobile, a leading creator and global publisher of mobile entertainment, today announced the launch of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Music Edition" for mobiles.
Based on the hit television quiz show and global phenomenon, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Music Edition" includes hundreds of specially selected music questions covering rock, pop and dance spanning the last 40 years, as well as all of the popular features of the television show: 50:50, Phone-A-Friend and Ask The Audience.
"'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' is a massive brand and perfect for mobile because it has a mass market, casual gamer appeal," said Kristian Segerstrale, managing director emea, Glu. "Adding a music-themed version alongside the million-selling original and celebrity versions will give gamers a fun twist on the 'Millionaire?' format. Quiz games are fun for anyone to play, and people will relish the chance to test their musical knowledge."
"We're very excited about the launch of the music version of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' on mobile," said Simon Gunning, head of interactive at Celador International. "Music is a perfect theme for a Millionaire game, as music appeals to men and women, the old and the young - just like the Millionaire show itself. Pairing the two is a natural evolution for the brand."
Key Features:
- Hundreds of questions to keep music trivia fans on their toes
- Access to three 'life lines' just like in the television show
- Online high scores to compare performance with other players
Glu has also launched two other mobile games based on the "Millionaire?" brand - the original "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" and "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Celebrity Edition." All three games are available in more than 14 languages, each containing hundreds of unique questions.
