Girls Who Code ends partnership with Activision Blizzard
Organization says "there is a line, and the allegations against Activision have crossed that line"
Yesterday the organization Girls Who Code announced the end of its partnership with Activision Blizzard.
The nonprofit which promotes closing the gender gap within the tech industry originally partnered with the gaming giant in 2018.
In a statement the organization attributed its decision to the recent news involving the company.
"Our priority has and always will be to stand up for women and other underrepresented groups in tech and ensure that they are given the support and stability they need to actively thrive as they pursue a career in computer science," said Girls Who Code.
"The news about Activision proves that our priorities are fundamentally misaligned. We cannot in good conscience continue to work with a company that is so antithetical to our own values."
The nonprofit explains that it holds its partners accountable "when they fall short..."
"However, there is a line, and the allegations against Activision have crossed that line," the organization said.
