GFI/Daedalic deal
A New Beginning, The Whispered World and Edna & Harvey: The Breakout signed for former USSR and Baltic countries.
Moscow, Russia / Hamburg, Germany: April 20, 2008 - Game Factory Interactive, one of the leading publishers in the Russian game market, and German developer/publisher Daedalic Entertainment announced today that they have entered into an agreement that will see GFI publishing three upcoming adventure game titles from Daedalic in Russia, former USSR countries and the Baltic Region.
Titles signed by GFI for publishing in these territories include A New Beginning, The Whispered World and Edna & Harvey: The Breakout. All three titles will be released for Windows PC.
About A New Beginning
A New Beginning is a cinematic, interactive eco-thriller. In the classic adventure game an impending global climate cataclysm threatens the world, in a story ripped from today’s headlines, dealing with the defining issue of our time. At locations all around the globe, players will have to try and stem the tide – with the whole world hanging in the balance.
Players take control of two protagonists and explore the detailed, hand-painted backgrounds. The more than 30 characters are rendered in a realistic 2D style and are painstakingly animated by hand. Many challenging puzzles and adventurous situations have to be overcome to prevent the impending climate catastrophe.
About The Whispered World
The beautiful adventure game The Whispered World whisks the player away to a fascinating fantasy world. In classic point & click tradition, gamers steer the young clown Sadwick and his companion Spot through the game’s hand-painted backgrounds. Excellent animation and lovingly crafted characters bring the story to life.
Sadwick is a young clown, traveling the world with his family’s circus, but often far from cheerful. One night, a strange blue creature speaks to him in a dream, and sends him on an adventurous journey. Many dangers await Sadwick, for the world he knows is doomed to crumble and fall.
About Edna & Harvey: The Breakout
Edna & Harvey: The Breakout is a point & click adventure game in the vein of the genre’s classics. Backgrounds and characters are completely 2D and drawn by hand by a real person in the game’s unique cartoon style. The game’s characters range from odd to genuinely crazy – twisted humor guaranteed! Thanks to challenging puzzles, extensive dialogues and more than 120 screens, gamers can look forward to an extraordinarily long gameplay experience.
In Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, Edna wakes up in the padded cell of an insane asylum with no memory of her past or how she ended up there. Only one thing is for certain: She has been wrongfully imprisoned and will have to escape! After all, she feels entirely sane – and her speaking stuffed toy bunny Harvey wholeheartedly agrees. Together they undertake a daring breakout attempt…
