Geoff Heath receives OBE
Former NCsoft Europe boss honoured in Queen's birthday list
Geoff Heath, former boss of NCsoft Europe, has been awarded the Order of the British Empire in the Queen's birthday honours list.
Heath, from Linfield in West Sussex, was cited "for services to the computer games industry", following key stints at a number of industry companies over a long period of time.
His career began at Activision, where he created the publisher's European business, and following the success of the original Ghostbusters game in the mid-eighties he moved to Virgin Mastertronic.
Later he took over Mindscape, before leaving for a non-executive chairman role at Climax, and then in 2004 he returned to the forefront of the games business as the head of NCsoft Europe.
He left that post earlier this year, following the company's restructuring - which combined the UK and US operations under the single NC West banner.
