GenMobile teams up with SnG

To create new media marketing platform

Liverpool-based technology firm Genemation has teamed up with SnG Technologies to create a new media marketing platform for advertisers.

As reported previously, Genemation specialises in producing face and feature tracking tools. The company has developed GenMobile, a server side application that enables the automatic finding of a face in an image uploaded from image capture devices such as mobile phones or EyeToy cameras.

SnG has developed Inflite - an on-device portal designed to engage consumers' interests in brands. Users who have it installed on their handsets can send free text, picture and video messages, with advertisers' brands are clearly visible within the application.

Now Genemation and SnG are bringing their technologies together in a bid to exploit the increasing consumer interest in social networking sites, virtual online worlds and user-generated content.

Using GenMobile, consumers can capture images of themselves, friends and family using their mobile phone and alter them with different effects - they can place someone's face in the Mona Lisa, for example, or add facial hair. They can then send the images to other Inflite users free of charge - again, with advertisers' brands visible in the application.

According to Genemation the new solution provided by GenMobile and Inflite is ideal for image rights owners, advertising agencies and network operators who wish to create added-value marketing campaigns as well as generate standalone revenues.
