Geniaware launch
New Italian developer working on Gamebryo-engined multi-platform title.
REGGIO EMILIA, ITALY. – Feb. 27th, 2009 – In 1492 Italian navigator Christopher Columbus, driven by courage and indestructible confidence in his belief, succeeded in proving his theory by going over what was until then believed to be the world's borders. He reached America and started off a period of discoveries and great explorations. Many years later (more than 500!), in a different sector but with the same spirit of initiative, a new expedition designed to succeed in the impetuous sea of the game industry sets off from Italy: Geniaware.
The studio boasts leading-edge technology together with a rapidly expanding international team that mixes experience, skills and, above all, passion. The aim is to deliver multi-platform innovative entertainment experiences. Moreover, Geniaware can count on an internal Artificial Intelligence dedicated department which includes professionals with several years of experience.
"I would like our talented team to be inspired by the brainwave of Leonardo da Vinci, a man with unlimited curiosity and who was able to provide clever inventions," says Daniele Spadaccini, Managing Director, Geniaware "I'm using this reference just to stress the focus of our challenge: to create critically and commercially successful games for a wide audience."
Geniaware is currently developing an original game based on a wide-audience topic and planned for multi-platform release. It will feature real innovative gameplay and exciting 3d real-time state-of-the-art graphics. Players will face completely new challenges and experience the game like never before.
With the aim of becoming a major player in the game development arena, the recently formed company has teamed up with Emergent in a technology partnership.
"We decided to work with Gamebryo as we believe that being able to use well-proven leading-edge technologies since day one will enable us to limit development risks as well as save time. Time that will be dedicated to the gameplay and simulation sides of our product in order to push its longevity and quality to the next level." added Daniele Spadaccini, Geniaware "Emergent has gained a huge reputation as a middleware solution and both our companies aim at building a long-term and mutually profitable relationship."
Geniaware was impressed with Gamebryo’s massive, modular toolset and extensible framework that allows developers to build games of any genre for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. And finally, Emergent’s extensive partner program guarantees interoperability with the best third-party middleware in the industry.
“Geniaware’s product concept is very exciting. They need a technology as flexible as Gamebryo for the game they are building” said Katie Morgan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We believe they have the makings of a great game franchise and we are happy to support their future success.”
