Gemini Rue
IGF Student Showcase finalist adventure title released.
NEW YORK, February 24, 2011 – Wadjet Eye Games, a leading independent publisher of retro-styled adventure games, has announced that Gemini Rue can now be downloaded for PC from http://www.geminirue.com. The sci-fi / noir adventure sells for $14.99. A free demo has also been released, giving players a glimpse at the atmospheric story and gameplay that made Gemini Rue an IGF Student Showcase finalist.
"Since its incarnation over three years ago as Boryokudan Rue, I never imagined how far this game would come," says Joshua Nuernberger, Gemini Rue's independent developer. "From getting recognized at the 2010 Independent Games Festival to showcasing the game at E3 and the Indie Games Arcade, its development has been an unbelievable experience. To finally release the game to the public and have it playable by everyone is a great honor and something I've been looking forward to for a long time."
Gemini Rue is a gripping adventure set in a bleak future dominated by the corrupt Boryokudan crime syndicate. Alternating between two characters, ex-assassin Azriel Odin and hospital inmate Delta-Six, players must uncover the secrets both men are hiding and discover the bond between them. Inspired by the old-school adventure games of Sierra and LucasArts, Gemini Rue features a point and click interface, hand-painted backgrounds, professional voice acting, an original soundtrack, and optional in-game commentary.
Due to popular demand, Wadjet Eye has extended their Gemini Rue Limited Edition CD offer through February 27. Customers who buy the $24.99 CD version get instant access to the Gemini Rue download, as well as free worldwide shipping when the CD becomes available in early March. This will be the last chance to purchase a physical copy of Gemini Rue. After this offer expires, Gemini Rue will only be available as a download.
