Gearbox is working on a Brothers in Arms TV series
Scott Rosenbaum, Randy Pitchford to serve as executive producers
Gearbox is working on a TV series based on tactical shooter series Brothers in Arms, with Scott Rosenbaum on board as showrunner and executive producer.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the adaptation is still currently in its early stages and is currently seeking both a director and broadcast partner, though its production team appears to be in place.
Rosenbaum, currently working as an executive producer on Queen of the South and with prior work in the same role on Gang Related and V, will be joined by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford as a fellow executive producer.
Jean-Julien Baronnet (producer of the 2016 Assassin's Creed film), Richard Whelan (associate producer on Captain America) and Sean Haran (chief business officer at Gearbox Entertainment) will also be a part of the production team.
The first season is planned to be inspired by real events occurring during World War II, focusing on eight men rescuing their colonel after a rehearsal mission for D-Day goes awry.
"The story we ended up using has never been dramatized on TV," said Rosenbaum. "Almost 800 U.S. servicemen were killed and it had to be covered up because the Allies were preparing for the real Normandy invasion."
Gearbox also has had a Borderlands film in the works since 2015, and in February announced it had brought on horror director Eli Roth.
