ISM Agency, the organiser of the inaugural GDC Poker Tournament, has announced that the event raised USD 24,000 (EUR 18,000)

ISM Agency, the organiser of the inaugural GDC Poker Tournament, has announced that the event raised USD 24,000 (EUR 18,000)

for charity.

The event took place on Tuesday March 6, during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. In total 120 players took part, and Lee Jacobson, Midway's vice president of business development, took the top prize of a Philips 37" AmbX flatscreen TV and DVD player.

Second prize went to Jill Zinner of Premier Search, who won a selection of LucasArts memorabilia. In third place was Douglas Rilley - a LucasArts employee himself - who picked up a custom PlayStation 3.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Starlight Starbright Foundation for seriously ill children.

"I'm thrilled I won, but most importantly the winners are the kids and their families," Jacobson commented. "I can't wait to come back next year and defend my title."

ISM's Stew Kosoy added, "We were delighted to see so many people turn up to compete for fun and for charity. We'd like to extend our thanks to the players and our generous sponsors."
