GDC Europe achieves "pan-European as well as global" success
Three day event attracts numbers of 1500 from across Europe, Asia and US
Following the conclusion of this year's Game Developers Conference Europe, held for the first time in Cologne, Germany, the event's organisers have heralded it a success, with attendee numbers totalling nearly 1500.
"With GDC Europe concluded, we're happy to look back at a truly successful event that will help guide the European game industry even further into the spotlight," said Frank Sliwka, vice president of Think Services Game Group. "From Sweden to Germany, France to England, amazing developers from every corner of the continent and throughout North America and Asia came together to make this conference truly pan-European as well as global."
The conference featured more than 130 speakers, including keynotes from Cevat Yerli and Matias Myllyrinne, 250 media representatives and over 40 exhibitors and sponsors, making it the largest professionals-only game industry event held in Europe.
Its success secures the event's return to Cologne in 2010, when the conference will be held from August 16-18, said its organisers.
