The Game Developers' Association of Australia will be hosting an Australian games industry business networking event at the upcoming San Francisco GDC

The Game Developers' Association of Australia will be hosting an Australian games industry business networking event at the upcoming San Francisco GDC.

The event, organised in conjunction with Austrade, will take place on February 21 by invitation only.

"We are limiting the invitation to around 50 — 60 key CEOs and decision-makers - publishers, investors, game developers, etc. - to the event at which real business can be conducted in relaxed and corporate environment," said GDAA CEO Greg Bondar.

Australian Game Developers will be showcasing their capabilities at the business session, which will also see key Australian Government Officials in attendance - including the Australian Consul General.

"GDC is a world class event and an important event on the Australian game developers' calendar and GDAA will be making the point to all international investors, publishers and game developers that making games is a serious business in Australia," Bondar added.

The GDAA was established in 1999 to increase the profile of the Australian electronic games industry both domestically and internationally. According to the organisation, the Australian games industry is worth an estimated USD 110 million per year.
