GCDC Triumphant in San Francisco
Leading European Conference for Game Developers, Successful In Presenting New Vision for 2007
GC Developers Conference (GCDC)
(August 20-22, 2007)
Leipzig, Germany - April 4, 2007
GC Developers Conference (GCDC) and GC (Games Convention) today announced the success of their mission in presenting the new vision of the leading European game development conference. The organizations used this year's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco (March 5-9, 2007), as a platform to create greater awareness of the European market for video games and game development among developers and the game industry. GCDC also announced changes to its format to facilitate even higher value for its attendees.
GCDC 2007, Europe's leading platform for games developers, will be held from August 20-22, 2007. The changes unveiled include the addition of new conference rooms to shorten the distances between sessions and give participants and speakers more opportunities to share ideas and network. Moreover, for the first time this year's conference will offer participants expanded business solutions such as workshops and strategies for entering the European and North American markets.
Visitors to the European developers' sector at GDC responded extremely positively to the changes, and the conference expects even greater attendance and value for attendees.
"We seized this opportunity to raise GCDC's profile in the North American market, as the leading meeting place for developers in Europe," said Frank Sliwka, project director of GCDC. "There's huge interest in the European development scene and this was echoed by the people we met at the conference. It became apparent from our discussions with international participants and speakers at GDC just how well known GCDC has become."
To prepare for GCDC in Leipzig, the members of its advisory board - Bob Bates (USA), Don L. Daglow (USA), Alexander Fernández (the Netherlands), Sean Kauppinen (USA), Bob Wallace (USA) and Frank Sliwka (Germany) - attended a number of meetings. The first keynote and other speakers were approached at GDC and will be announced over the coming weeks.
