GC: FIFA and Pro Evo exclusive to Xbox 360

In what will no doubt come as a bitter blow to Sony, Microsoft has announced that both FIFA 2007 and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will be exclusive to Xbox 360 for at least a year.

The announcement came during the company's conference at the Leipzig Games Convention, with Euro boss Chris Lewis telling the audience: "Xbox 360 owns football."

Under the terms of the agreement, the two leading football titles from Electronic Arts and Konami will not be available for Sony's PlayStation 3 until at least twelve months after release on Microsoft's console.

Current generation machines, including the PS2 and PSP, will also receive versions of the popular franchises - but Xbox 360 will be the only option for fans who want to experience next-gen FIFA and Pro Evo.

FIFA 2007 is due in stores September 29, with Pro Evolution Soccer 6 set for an October release.
