GC Asia to host region's "largest e-gaming tournament"
Singapore even to play host to competition as IAHGames deal is announced
LMI Asia, the company behind the organisation of the Games Convention Asia event, has announced that this year's show will host South-East Asia's largest e-gaming tournament.
The competition, which will put up USD 100,000 in cash and prizes, is being staged in partnership with Infocomm Asia Holdings, and online games operator and distributor in the region.
"We are glad to be teaming up with LMI Asia for GCA 2009," said Roland Ong, CEO of IAHGames. "Being a leading business platform that connects the whole gaming ecosystem of Asia Pacific, GCA is the perfect launch pad for our plans to widen our portfolio beyond distribution into game development. Leveraging the GCA connection, we would be able to increase IAHGames' visibility and tap into new business opportunities."
And Jorg Zeissig, MD of LMI Asia, added: "It is indeed an honour to have IAHGames on board as a valued partner of GCA 2009. With its commitment to consolidate the world's fastest growing online games market while helping publishers and developers bring the world's best games to Southeast Asia, IAHGames' presence at and contribution to GCA 2009 will be valued greatly by participants and visitors of the convention."
GC Asia will be held in Singapore this September at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
