GC Asia announces revised dates

Games Convention Asia, the Singapore-based event organised by Messe Leipzig - the company behind Games Convention - is to take place at the slightly earlier dates of September 18-20.

The event had been slated for early October, but a later-than-usual slot announced by the CESA for the Tokyo Games Show would have caused some issues for companies wanting to exhibit at both venues.

The GC Asia Conference will once again be held alongside GCA, which made its successful debut last year, attracting over 70,000 consumer and business visitors to the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore.

Singapore is keen to gain a higher profile in the global games industry, with significant benefits on offer from government agencies for developers, and Ubisoft announced the opening of a studio there recently that will grow over time to over 300 staff.

The conference will run from September 18-19, with the public exhibition lasting an extra day.
