GCA Games Convention Asia

GC Asia Conference (GCAC)

Suntec Singapore International Convention

& Exhibition Centre

(September 17-20, 2009)

LEIPZIG, Germany and SINGAPORE – September 3, 2009 – The organizers of the GC Asia Conference (GCAC) today announced that Tetsuhiko Yasuda will be a keynote speaker at this year’s conference. In his keynote, he will explore “The Challenge of Content Development within the South East Asia Region.” First, Yasuda will give a short overview about the importance of copyright protection within the Asian territories. Subsequently, he will touch upon the importance of developer training and support by companies and the government are in order to reach the ultimate objective: to export digital entertainment content from Asia to a worldwide market.

Tetsuhiko Yasuda plays a key role in Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. He took responsibility for the sales and marketing activities when launching the PlayStation® business in Japan 1994. Since 2005, he is fully responsible for the PlayStation® business in Asia and has contributed greatly to the growth of the games industry in this region. Now he is searching for ways to support and cultivate games and digital content development within the South East Asia region.

“Until now you rarely find digital entertainment content from Asia, which has been exported into the global market. This is something I want to change and work on,” said Tetsuhiko Yasuda. “GCA is the perfect event to do so, because it gives games developers out of the entire Asia-Pacific region a platform to meet. It is a great honor for me to be speaking at GCAC, where international, top-notch speakers lecture about the latest developments in the games market.”

“With GCA, we are aiming to establish the Asia-Pacific region as an important meeting point and site for an emerging market. Tetsuhiko Yasuda’s keynote perfectly contributes to this goal. He can give us insight into current constraints and possible solutions,” said Jorg Zeissig, Managing Director of LMI Asia Pte Ltd.
