German-based company looking to licence no fewer than five new MMOGs for Europe this year.

Hamburg March 18th 2009 -Leading European MMOG publisher gamigo announces its participation in the Game Developer’s Conference to be held next week in San Francisco. The German-based company plans to license five new major MMOG titles within this year for Europe and is calling out to interested licensing partners to arrange meetings at the show to discuss publishing opportunities.

Set for rapid expansion in 2009

gamigo, a subsidiary of European media giant Axel Springer AG, is one of the biggest MMOG publishers in the EU today, with revenues growing by over 400% on an annual basis. The company currently operates over a dozen MMOGs from genres RPG, Sports, Strategy and Action in German, English, French and Spanish language and plans to launch localized services for selected titles in Polish, Turkish, Portuguese and Italian this year. In the first half of 2009 gamigo is set to launch five new titles, among them the 3D MMORPGs “NeoSteam” and “Legends of Qin” as well as the Sports-title “Slapshot Underground” and the ground-breaking 3D web-based MMOG “Pirate Galaxy”, many of which are premieres in the Western market.

To further broaden its portfolio, gamigo plans to launch up to five new MMOGs in the second half of 2009. While some titles have already been secured, the company is actively looking for new content from both Asian and Western developers to publish in the EU.

“gamigo has been experiencing an amazing phase of growth and we are planning to continue this road by launching several high quality Free2Play MMOGs in 2009 and 2010”, comments Patrick Streppel, Chief Marketing Officer and responsible for licensing at gamigo. “We are happy to meet any developer or publisher who is interested in working with us and GDC would be the perfect opportunity!”
