Gamevil launches US publishing division
Skipping Stone creator aims to capitalise on US market growth
Seoul-based mobile games publisher Gamevil has announced the establishment of a dedicated US publishing division, Gamevil USA, confirming its intention to focus on the growth and expansion of the North American mobile sector.
Founded in 2000, Gamevil has established itself as a leading publisher in the competitive Korean mobile games market, additionally creating numerous critically acclaimed and commercially successful titles for US publishers.
Previous credits include Hands-On Mobile's CBS Sportsline Baseball 2005, and the multiple award-winning 'one-thumb' title Skipping Stone, published by I-play.
Allen Lee, Gamevil USA's VP of business development, commented: "In a market where brand has been king, we are upon a natural inflection point where quality is now what drives new and returning mobile gamers. We could not be more excited and passionate about publishing in the US."
The company plans to work closely with major US carriers, launching a series of games from its extensive portfolio of casual and networked titles and leveraging the firm's innovative technology platforms such as Gamevil Live - a scalable, user-friendly network gaming service.
Additionally, Gamevil plans to bring its successful business strategy to the US, utilising direct-to-consumer and community-based promotions and strengthening its marketing and sales expertise in the Western mobile space.
Further announcements on the company's publishing schedule and promotional activities are expected shortly.
