GameTrailers Announces Nominees For The First Annual "GameTrailers Best Of E3 Awards"

Winners Will Be Announced Friday, May 19 at GameTrailers.com

Santa Monica, Calif. - (May 17, 2006) - GameTrailers (GT), a division of MTV Networks and a premier online destination for broadcast quality video game media, has unveiled the nominees for the "GameTrailers Best of E3 Awards." Selections were made from among the hundreds of products shown at the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the world's largest video game trade show, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center May 10-12.

Nominees were narrowed down to five per category totaling 110 nominees across all platforms and genres. Visitors can log onto http://www.GameTrailers.com to view videos of the nominees and rank their favorites, as well as to check out GameTrailers extensive E3 show coverage.

Winners of the "GameTrailers Best of E3 Awards" will be announced Friday, May 19 as part of the "GameTrailers Best of E3 '06" video special. With the exception of the "Best Trailer Award," all games were playable at the show to be eligible for nomination. Nominees were chosen by the expert editorial staff at GameTrailers, led by Editor-in-Chief Shane Satterfield, former Editorial Director at G4 and co-creator of the most watched video game television show, "X-Play."

"We were really excited for this year's E3 and feel that the industry produced some knockout games that deserve recognition," said Satterfield. "We here at GameTrailers had our work cut out for us narrowing each category down to just five nominees."
